Declan Byrne

President WiMAX Forum

Declan Byrne joined the WiMAX Forum in 2010 and was unanimously elected President by the Board of Directors in 2012. Declan brings over 25 years of experience in the wireless industry and possesses a strong background in corporate governance, strategic development and regulatory affairs to the WiMAX Forum.

In addition to his leadership role at the Forum, Declan is also a Director at PTC, a $1.5 Billion U.S.-based software provider. At PTC Declan is responsible to support the energy and aerospace markets worldwide and drive digitalization across industries, delivering software platforms that help companies realize the efficiency, safety and financial gains promised by the Digital Thread.

In the past, Declan has worked for a public listed company as Chief Marketing Officer, and nd held senior executive positions at small and large corporations in the wireless industry with global responsibility for developing and managing domestic and international partnerships.

Declan served as a U.S. Diplomat abroad for the Foreign Service for more than 10 years and previously served for four years as a U.S. Naval Officer deployed on a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. Declan is a graduate of the University of San Francisco and speaks five languages including English, French, German, Russian and Spanish.
