Michael Gerlach

Mike Gerlach, Digital Factory Manufacturing Technologies Lead, 3M Film and Material Science, Manufacturing Technology and Engineering. With 20 years of service at 3M, Mike has focused on leveraging data and analytics to drive improvements and efficiencies throughout the product innovation pipeline. He is currently focused on developing and executing a strategic roadmap to drive precision and predictability within manufacturing by embracing the digitization of the shop floor and the evolving interconnectedness of process and IT systems. Prior to his current role, Mike was a lean work systems leader, developing tools and work practices that aligned behaviors with results. He has also developed new product platforms within the lab and supported key process technologies across several 3M manufacturing sites. Mike holds a B.S. in chemical engineering from Northwestern University and is a Shingo Alumni.
